DEAR NIGERIANS - GREATEST BLACK NATION

Sincerely I have tried to keep my advocacy campaign sane and focused. I believe in Nigeria and I certainly would wish that on my death, the Nigerian Flag will be wrapped on my coffin. I am an unrepentant Nigerian and I sincerely believe that the rest of the world cannot see the beauty and glory of existence till Nigeria assumes her place in the committee of Nations.

I am however angered by the complacency and belief by my compatriots that the way forward will come from political perverts and jobbers.
I sincerely am bewildered that most Nigerians still nurse confidence in the political class. I am even shocked that we assume that the public services is truly public and has any service to offer. It is rather disappointing that we are loosing institutions and experiencing a total system collapse.

A friend of mine in my last articles pointed out the victimization of dedicated officers that choose to comply with the standard operation procedures of public service. This is supposed to be the norm and not otherwise. A situations where officers who believe in operational standards becomes victims instead of heroes.

Our national values are completely erased due to interference and compromise of values and statutes. Some public and political officers act like gods and emperors with impunity, disregard for due process, total contempt for accountability, compliance to services rules and Protocol. What a shame... Remuneration are extremely incomparable with the services while allowances are foreclosed in the public and private services sectors compelling workers to survive below their worth and compromise on performance and quality of service delivery.

The president, governors as well as other political officers, because of the privileges provided and enjoyed by their high offices are busy making promises and giving assurance of better Nigeria to disbelieving Nigerians. Some public officers and benefactors are compelled to endorse the leaders poor performances just to keep their source of income and not with conviction that they hold the capability to effect value change. These public breach and disservice has left us with the inability to assess the realistic status of the actual development and growth in our national struggles for political and socio-economic realization.

Where do we start? Public services poor welfare, job insecurity, growing unemployment and gratification at most levels of government institutions and private sector of economy by perverts? Some citizens act above the law without recourse. Laws of the land and regulations are disregarded and breached even by institutions that were set and mandated to ensure compliance. It is a more horrifying novel than the Animal Kingdom. One sometimes wonder if some Nigerians are a lower version of Beasts rather than humans when their conducts are compared to that of natural human beings.

Why do public officers conduct themselves in manners that can best be described as rogues and frauds? The financial status of most public officers does not reflect the actual wages to earn. Infact, their financial worth is far in excess of what they earn as salaries and allowances yet nobody questions the source of these wealth. The supervisory agencies collect grafts for assignments not performed and services are delivered based on who knows who and connections? I can assure you that except appropriate check and disciplines are applied to check these rots we may have no Nigeria to call our own very soon.
What we regard as smartness is simply an endorsement of stealing, abuse of public office and cultural displacement. Our values as a discreet and industrious people are being perverted, eroded and criminal conducts enjoying the endorsement of our society.

No political interest can guarantee nor secure the future of Nigerians without the consent and participation of Nigerians. We owe it to our Children and generations yet unborn to rise up to the occasion. Our inaction will be an endorsement for complacency, public offices abuse, compromise and impunity. It will serve as an open invitation to the uncut opportunistic leaders of today's Nigeria to plunder the resources further. We must consciously object to abuse of public office by officers sustained by our tax. No Nigerian is more Nigerian than any Nigerian and we must not be deluded to assume that we are making any progress if we continue like this for a longer time.

THE DUTY THEREFORE IS ON ALL NIGERIANS TO APPROPEIATE OUR DESTINY, TAKE RESPONSIBILITY, CONDUCT OURSELVES IN COMPLIANCE TO THE CONSTITUTION, PAY THE.PRIZE FOR NATIONAL REBIRTH AND ACTUALIZATION. WE MUST DO WHAT IS RIGHT NO MATTER WHO STANDS TO BENEFIT FROM OUR SERVICES. SHUN UNPATRIOTIC ACTS, SHOW GENUINE REGARD FOR HUMAN LIVES AND MANIFEST OUR COMMITMENT TO BUILDING A MUTUALLY BENEFICIAL NIGERIA.
