On the 31st of January 2015 at the National Art Theater, Iganmu Lagos was the gathering of Eagles from the South East Nigeria. As Ndi Igbo we were called to a solemn assembly at the Instance of the Imo State Liaison Office in collaboration with South East Business Associations in Lagos.
To sensitize the South East Businessmen and investors on the urgent need for industrialization of the region. We also deliberated on the moral challenge of best trading practices as a recipe for attracting foreign investment support in our quest for industrial growth. Finally we presented opportunities for partnership with manufacturers from China, USA and South Korea.
Our Action Plan
1. We resolved to seek approval for a Customs approved bonded warehouses in the South East as none exists despite commanding over 70% of importation of goods into Nigeria including the huge duties and revenue generated from our people
2. Sustain awareness on the need of visionary and responsible business culture among our investors through public enlightenment by SEBIS.
3. Seek political support from the South East political leaders in the pursuit of South East Economic interests for the generation of employment for our extremely gifted and talented youths.
4. Check the stigmatization of the region due to the conducts of disillusioned and frustrated unemployed South Easterners who engage in anti social activities such as cybercrimes, vending of fake and substandard products, prostitution, kidnapping and robbery.
The Sun must rise with its characteristic intensity economically from the East as ordained by God.
